Movsar Evloev Better Striker Than Jean Silva?

Movsar Evloev isn’t buying the hype around Jean Silva’s striking. Speaking on the Overdogs Podcast with Mike Perry, the undefeated featherweight gave a blunt assessment of Silva’s last fight against Bryce Mitchell — and confidently claimed he’d handle Silva even in a pure stand-up battle.

“Silva is a good striker, but I was shocked by how Bryce Mitchell wrestled,” Evloev said. “He kept trying to grab a single leg and just stayed there. If you’re going for a takedown, then do it — why are you just standing there?”

Evloev went on to say that his own approach is much more aggressive and calculated:

“If I go for a takedown, I don’t stop until I finish it. Silva’s a dangerous guy, but my striking is good enough to fight him. I don’t think his striking is better than mine. I have good stand-up defense — I like to work off defense and not take risks.”

He also took a shot at Bryce Mitchell’s mindset:

“Bryce looked bad. He was nervous and didn’t believe in his takedowns.”
