UFC 311 & Fires | HOF
UFC 311 in Jeopardy
As Los Angeles battles a series of devastating wildfires, next week’s UFC 311 PPV card, set to take place at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, faces potential relocation. With flames sweeping through the region, concerns about air quality, safety, and logistical challenges are forcing the UFC to consider alternative plans for what was set to be a very important event, featuring Islam Makhachev vs Arman Tsarukyan & Merab Dvalishvili vs Umar Nurmagomedov.
The devastation of LA has been seen worldwide as the story has taken over social media. Horrific scenes are unfolding as homes have been burnt, animals have been mass misplaced, and many have even lost their lives.
It’s hard to believe that the city could clean up enough in only a week’s time to host one of the biggest MMA events of the year, but that’s certainly the direction the UFC seems to be heading.

Current Status
The current wildfire crisis has already taken its toll on various sporting events across Los Angeles. The NBA postponed a game between the Charlotte Hornets and the Los Angeles Lakers, originally set for Thursday night. Similarly, the NHL game between the Los Angeles Kings and the Calgary Flames was indefinitely postponed. The NFL’s response was to move its Wild Card Round match between the Minnesota Vikings and the Los Angeles Rams from SoFi Stadium to State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona, showing just how serious this situation has become.
Despite other major sports leagues taking action, it seems the timing could work out impeccably for the UFC. Knock on wood, the worst of the fires seems to be over with. The spread is starting to become contained as the winds slow down from 100mph to 30mph.
There is certainly still a threat, no one is in the clear just yet, and even so, there are immense amounts of recovery work to be done within LA. But as of right now, UFC 311 is still set to go down in LA next week. As long as the winds stay down and the spread of the flames continue to be contained, it is likely the show will go on in LA!
T-Mobile Arena
Potential Outcomes
Although UFC 311 seems to be staying in LA, it has been reported that T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada will likely serve as a backup venue in the event the card has to be moves out of LA. T-Mobile arena has no events scheduled for January 18th and obviously the UFC is no stranger to the venue.
It is extremely unlikely that the card would be cancelled or rescheduled this close to the event. The most likely outcome is for the event to stay in LA at the Intuit Dome, with a small possibility of moving to Vegas.
