ChatGPT: Name Your Top-10 MMA GOATs

Everyone has their own G.O.A.T. list when it comes to MMA – and most of them end in bloodshed (verbally, at least). So I decided to throw the debate into the hands of something emotionless, objective, and ruthless: ChatGPT.

I asked for a Top 10 list of the greatest MMA fighters of all time, using five key criteria:

  • Achievements in the sport
  • Dominance during their peak
  • Longevity at the top
  • Global influence on MMA culture
  • And importantly: PED usage counts against you

Here’s the list ChatGPT delivered:

Final Thoughts

Do I agree with this list personally? No.

As much as I love Khabib, I think he’s placed too high on the list. Jon Jones bumped down due to PEDs usage, but we have to remember that not all fighters are getting caught and we don’t know how many of his opponents were actually clean.

I would also put Demetrious Johnson above Anderson Silva.. If Mighty Mouse was bigger, he would have been one of the most popular fighters today and in the Top of everyone’s G.O.A.T. list.

Volkanovski climbing back into the Top 10 after reclaiming gold this month makes his case even stronger. Ronda may not have had the longest reign, but in terms of influence, she’s untouchable.

The debate continues. But if an AI is saying GSP is still king in 2025… maybe we’re not that crazy after all.
