HOF | Jones, Paul, Dana, Aspinall, & McGregor

Dan White Updates

  1. Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall to take place in 2025
  2. Logan Paul vs Conor McGregor boxing match in India is OFF

During UFC 311 fight week, Dana White has given some clarity into two topics fans have been speculating about.

In an interview with Pardon My Take, Dana revealed that the rumored Conor McGregor vs Logan Paul boxing match taking place in India is NO MORE. Instead, Dana says that McGregor should be returning to the UFC Octagon in Fall of 2025 (don’t hold your breath).

Making even more media rounds, Dana also joined Jim Rome for an interview where he revealed that Tom Aspinall vs Jon Jones is in the works for 2025. He said the UFC is “hopeful” that the fight will be made this year.

Jon Jones vs Tom Aspinall

Aspinall is coming off of his first interim HW title defense while Jones is coming off of his first HW title defense. Fans have voiced their disapproval of Jones fighting Stipe Miocic instead of Aspinall back at UFC 309, stating that the title should’ve been unified.

After his big TKO victory over Miocic, Jones stated that he would like to fight Alex Pereira next instead of the interim champion in Aspinall. While fans have speculated if this could mean Aspinall gets tossed to the side or if Jones would vacate the HW title, it seems the recent comments from Dana may have confirmed that Aspinall vs Jones is indeed next.

Jones vs Aspinall is the only fight to make. The belts must be unified and only one of the fighters can remain as the true HW champion. For what could be one of the biggest fights in UFC history, Dana’s wallet should sure be motivated to get the contracts signed, despite putting his promotion’s GOAT at risk.

Conor McGregor | Logan Paul

Conor McGregor vs Logan Paul

Many fans were left confused after rumors of a McGregor vs Paul boxing match were leaked. Not many fans had a desire to watch this fight and the announcement garnished more confusion than excitement.

Luckily, Dana confirmed that the boxing match has fizzled and that Paul & McGregor will not be fighting. Instead, amidst a controversial lawsuit, Dana stands by his guy McGregor saying that he will fight in the UFC again come Fall 2025.

Not having fought in the UFC since 2021, the McGregor fight news seems to have lost its luster compared to years prior.

Who is even left for Conor to fight? No one seems interested, the McGregor “red panty night” paydays seems to be in the past, and he still hasn’t fought Michael Chandler. Normally there are plenty of options for McGregor to choose as his next opponent, but this time around seems different.

For the first time in his career, it seems McGregor has lost his “pull”. It may be doubtful McGregor ever fights again, but at least Dana is still holding onto hope.
