Ian Garry vs Shavkat Rakhmonov

News Drop

  • Gilbert Burns speaks on leaked Rakhmonov-Garry sparring footage

As you may have seen on our Home of Fight social channels, there’s been a leaked clip of Shavkat Rakhmonov and Ian Garry sparring that is circling the internet.

Thankfully for us, “Show Me The Money” host Gilbert Burns trains at the same gym both fighters used to share and offered insight into the filming protocol at the gym, as well as his experiences in those instances with Ian Garry’s wife.

Burns worries that Rakhmonov could be overconfident from allegedly submitting Garry in sparring, while both he and Moicano also temper the results of said session, saying, “Training is training and fighting is fighting.”

Cody Durden

Betting Archives

  • Bet the house on Cody Durden

Not only does this podcast feature breakdowns from two top-level UFC fighters, but sometimes the UFC fighters in question will actually call into the show themselves – and that’s what happened here.

UFC flyweight Cody Durden, who faces Joshua Van on the preliminary card of UFC 310, called into the show to let the guys know what he has in store for his opponent this weekend.

Renato Moicano and Matty Bets had already liked Durden prior to the call, but this conversation put the American underdog into parlay territory for the boys.

Moicano went as far as to say that Durden is his favorite underdog at UFC 310, while Durden, confident as ever, doubled down by saying, “Bet the house.”

Vicente Luque

  • Matty Bets’ bold prediction on Luque-Gerimbo

The “Show Me The Money” podcast isn’t short on things like bold predictions, as Durden’s money line wasn’t the only big bet thrown down during the breakdown portion of the show.

After Gilbert Burns, who trains with Vicente Luque, talks about how Luque has been looking in the gym since his last loss, Matty Bets explains why the betting line between Luque and Themba Gorimbo is so disrespectful to the Brazilian as he makes a specific submission prediction (with a nice potential payout attached).

Clay Guida

Show Me The Funny

  • Gilbert Burns shares a funny Clay Guida story

With Clay Guida fighting Chase Hooper at UFC 310 this weekend, Gilbert Burns felt it was an appropriate time to share a funny story about the veteran Guida and his grappling abilities.

Both Burns and Guida were scheduled to compete in the same Quintet Grappling event back in 2019, which prompted a backstage interaction between the two men.

Clueless on the competition ruleset and in need of advice, Guida confided in Burns backstage, admitting that – outside of a single guillotine joke – he doesn’t have any real grappling skills outside of wrestling.

Burns thought Guida was joking, but “The Carpenter” doubled down on his admission, stating that he was lost on the floor without the option to strike. And sure enough, Guida would go on to add yet another submission loss to his resume (something that prompted some betting talk from the boys).

  • Renato Moicano and Gilbert Burns poke fun at HWs

I’ll be honest – I was already a fan of both Burns and Moicano before stumbling upon this show, but hearing these two talk trash about boring heavyweight fights being force-fed to us on main cards is absolutely my jam.

Don’t get me wrong: Ciryl Gane and Alexander Volkov 2 is an important fight for the divisional standings, but Burns and Moicano are spot on when it comes to the staring contest we’re likely in for.

The whole show is genuinely jam-packed with laughs, but Moicano and Burns’ banter about the feints in this HW fight was one of the funniest parts of the show this week.
